I was asked to review the latest collection from Fancy Pants “Off to School” on the Scrap Review. It’s a fun collection, very strong theme imagery but the b-sides of the paper make it usable for other projects. I made a layout with the first and last day of school photos:

I really liked the flocked alpha transparency in this line. I had a little chuckle when I realized that Tommy was wearing the same shorts both times. Molly changed a lot though.

I also made a card – I’m trying to make more cards. They’re useful things to have around and I never seem to have time to make one when I need one in a hurry!

The journaling card sheet gave me the idea to make a little mini-book so Molly can document her school year. She’s crazy for notebooks and another one is always appreciated.

I got the idea for the cover from my from a tutorial that my friend Francine did — Spiral Bound Journal I did my own version of the inside of the cover, using patterned papers, but her instructions are great!

I covered some Core’dinations cardstock with patterend paper and embellished with different stickers/die cuts in the collection.

The horizontal journaling cards made really nice pockets after I glued them on three sides. I tucked some of the vertical journaling cards into the pockets. I also left a few pages blank for photos/doodling/journaling.

If you like this line, and are in the US, leave a comment on my review at the Scrap Review by Thursday (today!) at midnight to be in for a change to win some Fancy Pants goodies!
