Whew! We had a busy, but fun weekend here socializing. Now it’s time to get back to the grind and establish that routine that I’ve been talking about since September came around. I’ve had company for the past two weeks so no scrapping was done but now that Mom’s gone (bye Nana, we’ll miss you!) I’ve already scrapped one layout. This first one is for this week’s How Much Is Too Much. The challenge is called: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 blast off and we had to include:

  • 5 sentences in the journaling
  • 4 pieces of chipboard
  • 3 words in the title
  • 2 photo corners
  • 1 shaped paper

This is what I came up with — I did it digitally. I didn’t have any digital photo corners so I improvised with ribbon.

Also, my latest article at the Scrap Review was posted today. I reviewed Sherry Steveson’s “The Scrapbook Embellishment Handbook. I had fun making a few layouts inspired by techniques in the book. This first one uses Core’dinations cardstock and Jillibean Soup goodies. Went a little nuts with the buttons but I did have fun making that tree using Pattie Knox’s textbyte no18 template:

The next one is all digital but I also want to try this techinque on a paper layout -the title is cut out of the photo and popped up on chipboard:

Supplies: Jelly Alpha by Michelle Martin; Photowraps no1, Vintage Frames no7, Loosely Labeled Dates, Vintage Postage, Love Grows brushes No3, Little Forest Friends brushes, Roughed Up Maps, Spot Dot brushes, Mailroom paper pack and Notebook paper pack by Katie Pertiet; Tattered ‘n Torn no4 and Stitched by Anna Cream by Anna Aspnes. All from designerdigitals.com.

Finally, my favorite layout – using Core’dinations and Piggy Tales. I think I just like how the bright colors look on a snow layout. I popped up one of the mittens on a Pig Tail.
That’s it from me this morning. I better start cleaning this house so I can scrap again!
