A quickie post since my mother complained that I hadn’t told her much about our trip to Washington DC. Here’s the recap:
Unfortunately a lot of places didn’t allow photos and after a while I got tired of taking my camera with me and not using it so I stopped taking it but I did get a few photos. Thank goodness for camera phones! I used a Cathy Zielske template here but modified it (CZ layered template No. 88). Her style is very flat and I like my layouts to be a little bit more paper-like (just a bit of dimension). I tend to add add drop shadows and removed some lines so soften things up a bit.
Calvinball update: That’s all I managed yesterday – 1 pt but at least I get another point for blogging!
What a great quick recap! Sounds like a great trip! Did you get to the National Archives or the Newseum? If not, put those on your list for the next time you go – my kids loved both of those!
When I can’t take photos, I use postcards from the venue. Sometimes, the venues have websites with free stock images available too. I love your LO!
Love the photo of the Washington Monument. I think it’s time to reopen it, still can’t believe there was an earthquake on the east coast though. It also reminds me of the Bunker Hill Monument, one of the coolest cultural icons in the Boston area.
