Happy Monday everyone, it’s inspiration time! Long ago there was a time when I could carefully select my inspiration piece and try to find the perfect pieces to go along with it. Now I’ve gotten to the stage that I can find inspiration in pretty much anything so I grab the nearest paper and get to work. I found this particular ad in the Sunday paper magazine (thanks Trudy!). It’s exactly the kind of ad I could have picked years ago when I started using ads for inspiration – a simple grid. Of course I can’t just leave it as a simple grid any more (and why is that?) but the basic structure is still the same.

What’s not to love about this? I must admit that it was the extraction in the sky photo that sucked me in – I love to see stuff overlap into other boxes of a grid. However, it didn’t really work out that way in mine – the baseball that I added is actually in the spot where a baseball is in that adjacent photo.  It’s another one of those times when I think I’d like to use this inspiration piece again and again. And why not? It will look different every time with different photos and effects.
