Happy inspiration day everyone! I’m still on an artsy high after a day long class with the fabulous Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, but since I left my paints behind at the store after me (oops!) I had to go with a digital layout for this week. My inspiration for this challenge comes from a magazine advert ripped from a travel magazine.
Kinda makes you want to go traveling, doesn’t it? I liked how one part of the image was highlighted with the green frame and used that as the main feature in my layout. I think I’m hooked on this digi technique of fading my photo into the background (using layer masks and gradients) – let me know if you’d like more detail on that.

My layouts have been getting simpler and simpler of late but I’m ok with that. Sometimes I think it’s good to simplify. Do you go through phases when your work in simpler or is it always getting more complex? Inquiring minds want to know!
Love your inspiration and the clever take on it! I’ve been yearning simpler too. It is, after all, all about the photos and the stories. The papers and embellishments are great if they help to unify the photos and enhance the story. Maybe we’re getting older and wiser or maybe we’re just getting old and lazy?!! 😉
Isn’t it hard when a kind passer by takes a blurry shot. You have to be thankful that they made the effort, but…!!
