Good Monday morning! Happy presidents day to my friends in the US 🙂 Thanks so much for your comments on last weeks ad – I’m so glad that people are enjoying them. I decided to mix things up this week and do both paper and digital layouts inspired by the ad. Time permitting, I’m going to try to do this every week. I’ve been feeling in a rut with my scrapbooking lately so my paper pages are going to be experiments with techniques and styles, getting messy and layering (things I don’t usually do!).
But first, the inspiration piece:
I knew this would be pretty simple – single photos tend to be, and I liked the bit black frame which I mimicked with my digital layout. I replaced the gecko with a butterfly and stayed pretty close to a literal interpretation of the ad:
Supplies from Designer Digitals
And for something completely different, my paper layout with ink splotches, paint and messy stitching. I even busted out my stamps! I’m really liking this style at the moment, it’s very free-form, messy and low stress. I have perfectionist tendencies and this allows be to slap things down and not feel like things have to be just so. 🙂
How about you? Are you inspired by this ad? Please share if you do create something – I’d love to hear from you!
yay! Monday! Time to head over to Paula’s! 🙂
Judos to you for tring new things…always good to tweak that inner artist and keep it fresh and new and exciting. I pretty much always love your layouts, but I have to ay I’m a paper-scissorkindo f girl and it makes my heart happy to see “real” scrapbooking from you…big smiles and thumbs up from me on this one!
Whups! I meant *kudos*…judos would be an entirely different thing!
Tee hee hee Natalie 🙂
Didn’t get last week’s challenge done because I couldn’t find a photo that was screaming to be big, so I thought I’d share an older challenge I hadn’t posted. This is Ad Challenge #12 – http://www.flickr.com/photos/76323105@N05/6910464473/
Let me tell you Paula, I LOVE it when you go freestyle and just “slap things down”!!!! The first page is very clean and sweet but the second page rocks!
