I’ve doing LOAD (layout-a-day) for October – every day Lain emails the LOAD group a new prompt that can be used for that day’s layout. I challenged myself to use the prompts to make quick digital layouts and have been having a lot of fun doing it. Here’s a few layouts I’ve made so far:

The prompt for this photo was so scrap a photo of something other than people. I’m not sure what I would have used this photo for, if not on this layout!

Yesterday Lain challenged us to scrap without a photo – I did actually use an image, a scan of a drawing my son made for me.  Not quite fulfilling the challenge but hey, rules are made to be broken, right?

Another prompt called for us to use a film strip. Luckily for me, Katie Pertiet has a whole line of templates that use film strips – Filmed Layered Templates.

This next one is one of my favorites. We were supposed to try converting a photo to black and white. I went looking for suitable photos and found some that were very over-exposed. I used one photo as a background for my layout, by changing the blend mode and then used a small one as an accent. I preferred them in color but it was interesting to try that out, and as a bonus I ended up using photos that I thought were unusable!

And here’s one more – this one was supposed to be a close crop but I wanted to keep all these details in the photos – I did crop them to be narrow strips however. And how crazy is my husband that he let the kids do this?

If you are interested in learning how to digi scrap, my “how to use Photoshop (Elements and CS)” self-paced class is on sale until noon today, Saturday! It’s $5 off the regular price of $25, and you get
