As promised, here are my first ever Piggy Tales projects. This was totally different for me – usually I’m a straight up, simple layout gal but this time I did a layout, an altered project (gasp!) and some cards (double gasp!). The layout is even something different for me – it contains my first paper piecing! Paper piecing is something that I’ve been meaning to try for some time but never got around to it. I love it when people like Kelli Crowe make those fun and funky layouts using that technique – I’m not quite there (LOL) but I do like how this turned out. This using the Piggy Tales Billy Goat’s Gruff collection.
I was inspired by last week’s journaler’s junction challenge “what’s in the stars” to scrap about a star sign. I’d already done mine a few years ago so I took the opportunity to scrap Tommy’s. I needed google to figure out what his was but it actually was pretty spot on for him!
I saw a similar canvas to this in Pottery Barn kids catalog and thought it would be fun to make for Molly’s room. I used the Piggy Tales Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary collection here. Michael’s was having a sale on a 2-pack of the 24×18 size (I think) for $8.99 so I have one more left. Tommy wants a dinosaur one – I’m still thinking about how to do that!
And finally, my cards. I’m a little card challenged – they don’t come easily to me. I should keep at it I guess in hope that I’ll improve 🙂 These were all made with the It’s Raining, It’s Pouring collection – appropriate for Spring I thought!
I’ve been working on my April Kraft Girl kit project today – I’ll be posting sneaks very soon!
Paula, all of these turned out gorgeous! And I think those cards are great. And the crab. And the butterflies. Sigh. They are all wonderful!
Ooh, I love the crabbidy crab. Too, too cute especially in that vivid red. Love it!
