Did you ever have one of those days when you look around and sigh…with happiness? Life with young children involves a lot of crying, pleading, whining and general craziness. And then, out of nowhere you have a wonderful tear-free afternoon with two happy, pleasant children and you realize life is pretty darned good. Yesterday it hit 74 degrees here, for the first time this year. Actually it was probably the first time it got past 60. It’s amazing how it affected everyone’s demeanor! We have a zoo membership that expires at the end of this month so I decided to make a little field trip to celebrate the beautiful day. It was blissful. The kids ran from exhibit and marveled at all the animals. We had ice-cream. Nobody complained. They tried out all the equipment at the playground and ended up at a miniature carousel where 50 cents got them both a little ride. It couldn’t have been better. This, I said to myself, this is why people have kids. Could they be any cuter? Oh yeah, and they willingly posed for this photo — that NEVER happens! Check out the super hero pose (hands on the hips – cracks me up!).

I tried out on the the Pioneer Woman’s free actions (thanks for the tip Celeste!) here — this one is boost– I think it might be a little dark, or maybe it’s my monitor. In any case, I could look at this photo all day 🙂
