Yesterday’s quote: Joy

I define joy as a sustained sense of well-being and internal peace–a connection to what matters.

-Oprah Winfrey

I’m not a big fan of Oprah’s but I agree with her on this one. Feeling good inside, good about who you are and your situation that is what defines joy for me. I felt it this morning as my son was using me as a toy horse, climbing up on my back. He put his arms around me and said “I love you so much”. Who wouldn’t possibly feel joy after hearing that?

Of course I grabbed my camera after he said that and took a photo to scrap that special moment.

I did this layout for this week’s HMITM challenge – create a layout using products from 20 manufacturers. I love a good challenge. Of course, I’m never content to leave it at one challenge…I combined it with Jessica Sprague’s Photoshop Friday challenge – text on a photo. So much fun and completely different from what I would have done without the influence of challenges.

I’m loving the whole idea of hybrid layouts. I wrote on this photo, used a digital brush by Katie Pertiet (the tested sweet stamp) and finally used Jessica’s grunge mat on the photo itself. Pretty cool. I must do more of this!

Today’s quote:

Who ever thought a little girl like you could destroy my beautiful wickedness?
-the Wicked Witch of the West

Can I stand up to the wickedness? I’ve never really thought about standing up to wickedness. I generally try to avoid outright nasty people. I’m a quiet person but definitely not a pushover. If I believe in something I will always stand my ground and voice my opinion. I come across as quiet and easy going but I do have the stereotypical “Irish” temper. As David Banner used to say “Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.”
