Welcome to the Crafter’s workshop/Balzer Designs Blog hop. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to be part of this blog hop! I’ve known Julie online for a number of years and I was lucky to spend quite a bit of time at her booth at CHA where we got to play with her stencils. If you have never played with stencils before, don’t be intimidated, they are SO much fun! I had a blast getting inky and painty with Julie and I’m hooked!
Today’s hop features the Faces stencils — I used the Summer stencil, isn’t she cute?
I’m a pretty clean and simple scrapper so I decided to use stencils on tags so that I could contain the mess/result 🙂
I watched some of Julie’s videos on YouTube and first traced the stencil with a pencil. I filled in the hair with some paint before inking over the stencil (drying with a heat gun in between steps). I used ink and a bending pen to fill in the lips, and then used blending tools to lightly fill in the skin and background. In addition to the Summer stencil, and I also used Trust Your Heart and Punchinella stencils.
Don’t forget to check out the other blogs on the hop:

Happy hopping!
So cute! I love these stencils! I must own them all! Really neat project using the stencil in a different way.
Great page. Love that idea to do the images on tags and after put them on the page. Thanks for sharing, Johanne L.
Your contained mess is *awesome*!! Thanks so much for participating in the hop!
You've about got me convinced to try those face stencils.
Sweet idea using tags in your delightful layout!
wonderful!!!! Love the series of tags!!
I love that you used tags on your project. They are my favorite of all supplies. So sweet that you made this about your daughter and included her photo in with it. I have girls too and it is a very difficult to understand their relationships and to be who they want. LOVE THIS!!
p.s. my one daughter's name is Summer and so this my favorite of all the stencils. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful! Love how you incorporated the tags and other stencils into the project. Great advice, too, Mom!
Super cool layout. Thanks.
OMGosh! Love this page…esp. the tags…thanks for the wonderful inspiration 🙂
She's adorabel…I think my favorite of all the lady's. Interesting idea using it on the tags…I will give this a try.

Thanks for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do some research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such wonderful information being shared freely out there.
