Which means that I get to reveal my layouts for the August Kraft Girl kits. I had so much fun making these layouts that it pained me not to share them immediately 🙂 The colors were so bright and happy and even though initially I was a little intimidated I LOVED how they all came together. That Pam at KGK is one smart cookie!
First up — a layout about one of our trips to be beach in Ireland. I love the Sassafras paper edges and used a Fiskars punch on some papers to add some interest to my paper strips. That grid paper by Prima was a wonderful background for the bright colors in the kit. I used Katie Pertiet’s photo clusters #15 here.
I’ve been wanting to play with the Sassafras paper whimsies since I saw them and now I had my chance. I felt like I was channeling the lovely Emily Pitts here with my paper tearing and crumpling but it’s still very me. Again, I used Katie Pertiet’s photo clusters #15 here.
These Maya Road birdies are the cutest – I covered this one in paper (Crate Paper Enchanted). Please excuse the cheesy sentiment, I enjoy puns. Oh and I LOVE those thickers.
Finally I’ll leave you with the layout that made me cry. Visiting the old family farm the year after my uncle passed away, left me feeling very sad. I’m glad that I’ve recorded my feelings – it’s cathartic to get it down on paper. For this one I used Katie Pertiet’s photo clusters #19.
You can see all of the DT layout on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/groups/kraftgirlkits. Join the group and post your layouts using the kit there so we can all check them out.
Some more KGK news:
We will be sponsoring 52 weeks 52 Sketches the week of August 9th and will be giving away one of the August Kits. Woot!
There will also be a sketch contest – the sketch will be posted later on the kgk site.
The November and December 2008 kits are 50% off and the March kit is 25% off.
Fantastic layouts Paula! I laughed at the channeling Em comment, I felt a little EM vibe go through me when I was cutting funky scallops on one of my pages.

Loving all those multi photo pages – awesome jo!
No wonder you're proud of them! Good job keeping them secret. 🙂 Time for a scraplift! (Or three…)
Question, are you using the photo clusters from Designer Digitals for those photo groupings? love how that looks..assume you are cutting them out after printing? 🙂
