It’s been a while but one vacation and some internet troubles later, I’m back! As I write this, my 100th post, I’ve been wondering why I blog? It’s a question that gets tossed out there every so often on message boards and for the longest time I was in the “why would I blog?” camp. It’s just another thing to add to my never ending to-do list. Why would I want to broadcast my life story across the internet? For years I lived with the fear that my writing wasn’t good enough. One nasty teacher can do a lot of damage to a child ‘s esteem (I’m not bitter, me? No!). When I started scrapbooking, the journaling part was my least favorite — I was worried about what people would think when they read my pages but as time progressed I got over that fear. I worked on finding a way to write that I felt comfortable with, and one that didn’t make me cringe when I went back to re-read it 🙂 And yes, I’m still working on that. 😛
I officially started blogging when I saw a challenge blog that provided prompts for journaling. I thought it would be a good way to help me improve my journaling. I fell off the bandwagon after a while but I kept up blogging occasionally. The blog became less about the journaling and more about the projects I was working on, and other stuff and now, well now I don’t know what it’s about. But I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually.
And now, after a long absence from scrappy stuff I bring you the first layout for June. A vacation one of course. The requisite kids-on-the-beach layout, except in Ireland it’s more fun if you wear wet-suits while doing that (less chance of hypothermia, don’t you know?)
While I was away Ali Edwards started selling digital goodies at Designer Digitals (so cool) — I am loving these 12×12 overlays that include a title and journaling space – they will be in the store on Sunday.
Other supplies:
Hello Summer Hand Drawn Brushes by Ali,
Staple Its! by Pattie Knox,
French Summer kit (button) by Lynn Grieveson,
Fancy Schmancy paper pack by Jesse Edwards,
FloralART Paperie No 07 by Anna Aspnes
And now I’m going to get ready to meet some scrappy friends (Suzy Reap and Vivian Masket) for some girl time. Happy Saturday everyone!
yay! glad you’re back! the beach looks wonderful! can’t wait to see more! 😀
Hi, Paula! Welcome home. The page is beautiful — love the “spills” and that strip of paper is perfect. So surprised to hear how you’ve felt about your journaling since I think of your journaling as top-notch.

this layout is amazing.
Paula, I have to agree with Debbie, your journaling is great…it touches my heart the way good journaling is supposed to do. Welcome back home!
One of my friends from my kit club tagged me…it’s a fun little game that I decided to play along. I had to tag 5-6 people so I decided to tag five people that most inspire me. Guess what? I tagged you 🙂
If you have the time and want to check it out, go to my blog at http://yabedash.blogspot.com
